Nine Registered Agent Services in Alaska, Ranked
Alaska registered agent service at a flat $99 per year. Physical address, scanned legal mail, compliance alerts. Renewals stay the same price.
A registered agent comparison should answer two questions: what does each service cost per year, and does that price survive renewal. This page answers both for nine vendors serving Alaska businesses.
The disclosure comes first. Alaska Registered Agent.co publishes this ranking and sells the service in position one, so treat our verdicts as a vendor's verdicts; the prices are each company's own advertised rates and do not depend on our opinions.
How the Order Was Decided
Three tests, applied in order. Is the yearly price published? Does it hold at renewal? What does it include? Services with flat, published, renewal-stable rates rank high. Teaser pricing, quarterly billing, and unpublished renewals sink a rank.
Applied honestly, the first test costs us the price crown: at a published $90 per year, BetterLegal is the cheapest registered agent service in Alaska. Our $99 does not beat that. It sits among the lowest flat annual prices in the state, renews at the identical figure every year, and includes same-day scanning of service of process, which a raw sticker price does not capture.
Annual Price for Each Alaska Registered Agent Service
| Rank | Service | Annual price | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Alaska Registered Agent.co (this site) | $99/year flat; renewal identical | Same-day scanning of service of process; no upsell menu |
| 2 | Northwest Registered Agent | $125/yr for 1-4 states; $100/yr each for 5+ states | First year free (bundled with formation) |
| 3 | BetterLegal | $90/year | Lowest published price; first-year terms unverified |
| 4 | Rocket Lawyer | $125/year | Price identical across all membership tiers; no first-year discount found |
| 5 | ZenBusiness | $199/year (renewal) | First year $99 + state fees (standalone RA purchase) |
| 6 | Bizee (formerly Incfile) | $149/year (standalone) | Bundled free 3-12 months with LLC formation (varies by package) |
| 7 | LegalZoom | $249/year | Flat, auto-renews; no first-year discount found |
| 8 | Swyft Filings | $149 billed quarterly (~$596/year annualized) | No distinct first-year discount found |
| 9 | Inc Authority | Not published | First year $0 (included free); renewal likely revealed only at checkout or by phone |
All rates above are the vendors' own advertised prices, checked in July 2026. Pricing pages change whenever a vendor decides they should. Confirm the current number on each vendor's site, ours included, before you commit.
Position-by-Position Verdicts

Order Here1. Alaska Registered Agent.co
Our service, ranked by us; the disclosure above applies. The facts: $99 per year, with a renewal invoice that matches the first one. Service of process is scanned and emailed the same business day it arrives at our office. The single auxiliary charge is published, $15 per item for scanning mail that is not legal service. No upgrade tier appears at checkout, and the address on your state filings is a compliant Alaska street address under AS 10.50.055.
2. Northwest Registered Agent
The credible alternative. Northwest publishes its structure plainly: first year free when bundled with formation, then $125 per year for 1-4 states, or $100 per state annually at five or more. Phone support is human and the privacy practices are taken seriously. Renewal cost is the one line where we come out ahead.
3. BetterLegal
The published $90 per year is the lowest advertised rate in the table and takes the price crown outright. What we could not verify is the first-year billing arrangement, so read the order screen rather than assuming $90 is also the initial charge.
4. Rocket Lawyer
$125 per year at every membership tier, with no first-year discount found. Predictable, which counts for something. The agent offering is one component of a wide legal-services platform; the platform is the reason to choose it, not the agent service on its own.
5. ZenBusiness
Strong software and a coherent dashboard, credit given. The pricing structure works against it: a standalone agent purchase is $99 plus state fees in year one, then $199 per year. The $199 is the operative number. Evaluate at that.
6. Bizee (formerly Incfile)
Formation packages include the agent service free for 3 to 12 months, package-dependent, which carries real value if formation is on your list anyway. The standalone rate, and the rate once the free months lapse, is $149 per year. Diary the lapse date.
7. LegalZoom
The category's biggest brand at the category's highest flat rate: $249 per year, auto-renewing, no first-year discount found. Every flat-rate vendor ranked above it charges less. What LegalZoom adds is recognition, and recognition is worth whatever you decide it is worth.
8. Swyft Filings
$149 billed quarterly, roughly $596 per year annualized, with no distinct first-year discount found. Ranked here because quarterly billing distorts the comparison: against yearly rates, the annualized figure is the honest one, and it is the highest effective cost on this page.
9. Inc Authority
First year: $0, included free. Renewal: not published. We checked the FAQ, the premium package pages, and the homepage; no figure appears, and it is likely revealed only at checkout or by phone. A renewal a buyer cannot see before purchasing is the exact pattern a price comparison exists to expose. Last position.
Alaska Has No Secretary of State
National vendors write their instructions for the median state, and the median state routes business filings through a Secretary of State. Alaska does not have that office. Registered agent records, biennial reports, and entity filings all run through the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, part of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. Wherever a provider's paperwork says Secretary of State, substitute the Division's Corporations Section.
Agent Requirements: AS 10.50.055
| Rule | Requirement in Alaska |
|---|---|
| Eligible agents | An individual Alaska resident, or a corporation authorized to transact business in Alaska |
| Ineligible | The entity itself; any LLC (an LLC may not serve as a registered agent) |
| Residency standard | AS 01.10.055: physically present in Alaska with the intent to remain indefinitely |
| Registered office | Physical Alaska street address; a PO box is acceptable only as a separate mailing address |
| Availability | Staffed during normal business hours, five days a week |
Every vendor in the comparison table satisfies these requirements; the statute sets the floor, and the table prices what sits on top of it.
Switching Agents and the Biennial Report
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereTwo facts pair here. First, changing agents costs $25: the Statement of Change of Registered Agent, Form 08-409, filed with the Division and effective when filed under AS 10.50.060. Second, the biennial report cannot carry that change; Alaska requires the separate form even when the report is due the same month. On the report itself: it is biennial rather than annual, due January 2 of your filing year, $100 for a domestic LLC, with a $37.50 penalty for late filing. Reminders ahead of that cycle are included in our $99. If you shortlist another vendor, confirm compliance alerts are not an upsell.
Decide From the Table
If a flat $99, an identical renewal, and same-day document scanning meet your requirements, enrollment takes a few minutes.
